Longmeadow is a town with a population of over 15,000 on the city limits of Springfield. It used to be counted simply as farmland within the city limits of Springfield until 1783 when it was incorporated as its own town.
Longmeadow reaches toward the western side of Massachusetts, sitting directly south of Springfield and bordered by Agawam and the Connecticut River to the west. As mentioned before, the town used to be the farming lands of Springfield, and as such it is still comprised of over 30% open space.
